Rare and Fine Slip-Decorated Redware Moon Jug, Galena, IL origin, second half 19th century, squat-shaped jug with distinctive tooled spout, decorated around the body with three large spots of yellow slip under a clear lead glaze. Outstanding decoration distinctive to this pottery. Excellent condition with minor, partially colored flakes to handle and some minor, typical lime pings to body. H 10 1/2".
