Slip-Decorated Redware Jar, Galena, IL origin, second half 19th century, semi-ovoid jar with footed base, tooled shoulder, and flaring, angular rim, the lead-glazed surface featuring dipped yellow slip to the upper body and mottled green and orange coloration below. Heavy wear and shallow chipping to rim. A thin 1 1/2" crack from rim. Significant exfoliation to shoulder. Chipping to foot. Some light circumferential wear to midsection. H 10 1/4".
