Fine Slip-Decorated Redware "Moon" Jug, Galena, IL origin, second half 19th century, squat-shaped jug with tooled spout, decorated with a large yellow slip "moon" motif on front, reverse, handle and top of spout. over a mottled green-and-orange ground. Lead-glazed surface. Some losses to glaze/slip. Wear to top of spout. Light surface wear. H 8 1/2".
