Rare and Fine Miniature Redware Jar with Manganese Slash Decoration, Midwestern origin, probably Galena, IL, second half 19th century, cylindrical jar with tooled shoulder and flared rim, decorated throughout with manganese slash decoration under a clear lead glaze. Exceptional decoration and size. Provenance: From a long-term Illinois collection consigned to this auction. Excellent condition with a minor rim nick. H 3 1/2".
