Scarce Two-Gallon Slip-Decorated Redware Jug, Galena, IL origin, second half 19th century, cylindrical jug with stepped spout, decorated with three large circular spots of yellow slip around the body, the surface covered in a clear lead glaze. Impressed "2" at lower handle terminal. Handle broken into three pieces and reglued. A small chip where handle meets spout of jug. A 3/4" spout chip, a minor spout chip, and some minor spout wear. Small flakes to shoulder area. H 12 1/2".
