Rare Two-Gallon Redware Bowl, Galena, IL origin, second half 19th century, flaring form with thick, semi-squared rim, the lead-glazed interior and exterior featuring a colorful olive-to-orange ground with orange-and-red spotting. Impressed "2" on rim. Provenance: From a long-term Illinois collection consigned to this auction. Wear to interior and bottom edge of rim. Glazed exterior survives in excellent condition with only minor wear. Diam. (at rim) 14 1/2" ; H 5 7/8".
