Large-Sized Redware Bank, American, 19th century, wheel-thrown bank in the form of a top or turnip with pointed base, button-form finial, and carved slot, the lead-glazed surface decorated with manganese at the base and small touches of manganese at the shoulder. Heavy chipping to finial. Traces of old brown paint to shoulder area, unrelated to any sort of restoration. Light surface wear. Some wear to slot and pointed base. L 8 1/4".
