Rare Glazed Redware Figure of a Dog, attributed to Jesiah Shorb, West Manheim Township, York County, PA, 19th century, hand-modeled figure of a dog with collar, curled tail, and slightly-turned head, seated on a slab base. Surface decorated with splashed manganese and covered in a clear lead glaze. One leg broken into three pieces and reglued, including flakes along breaks. Other leg possibly reglued where it meets the dog's body. Losses to base. Loss to one ear. Small chip to tail. Some wear to muzzle. Old piece of paper affixed to underside of base. H 4 1/4" ; L 2 1/2".
