Two Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Jars, Western PA and WV origin, circa 1875, a canning jar with "wax sealer" rim, stenciled "RICHEY & HAMILTON. / PALATINE. W.VA" within a banner, paired with a jar featuring the scrolled maker's stenciling, "JAMES HAMILTON & Co / MANUFACTURERS / GREENSBORO. PA." Palatine jar with four chips to inner wax sealer rim and some wear to stenciling. Greensboro jar with a 1" flake to base, in otherwise excellent condition. H (of Palatine jar) 8 5/8".
