Two Two-Gallon Stoneware Jars, Greensboro, PA origin, circa 1880-1885, both of cylindrical form and stenciled and freehand cobalt decoration, one stenciled "T.F. REPPERT / GREENSBORO. / PA.," the other stenciled "WILLIAMS & REPPERT / GREENSBORO. PA." with an incised X on underside. Reppert jar with a shallow in-the-firing base flake, an in-the-firing surface chip to reverse, some wear to cobalt, and some wear to inner rim for lid. Williams & Reppert jar in excellent, essentially as-made condition.
