Small Glazed Redware Jug, Galena, IL origin, second half 19th century, narrow-formed cylindrical jug with tooled spout, the surface covered in a light lead glaze over a mottled green and orange ground. Provenance: From a long-term private collection of Galena, IL redware consigned to this auction. Some exfoliation to surface of jug and handle, primarily to base area of jug. An in-the-firing dryness to base area. Smooth, shallow chips to spout. A tight spider crack to underside, continuing onto base. H 9 3/8".
