Two-Gallon Stoneware Pitcher with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Baltimore, MD, circa 1860, ovoid pitcher with footed base and tooled rim, decorated three times around the midsection with a fan-shaped flower emanating from a leafy stem. Brushed swags flanking the spout and decorating the sides of the collar. Cobalt highlights to handle terminals. Provenance: A fresh-to-the-market example, from a forty-year Maryland collection. Excellent condition with a 2 1/2" salt drip to reverse.
