Rare One-Gallon Stoneware Ship Chandler's Advertising Jug, Baltimore, MD origin, circa 1875, squat-shaped, cylindrical jug with tooled spout, featuring the impressed and cobalt-highlighted advertising, "STRUVEN & WACKER / GROCERS & SHIP CHANDLERS / COR ALICE ANN & CHESTER. ST / BALTIMORE". Provenance: Dredged in the Chesapeake Bay, with smooth traces of barnacles on underside. Missing handle. Otherwise excellent condition.
