Two Pieces of Northeastern Stoneware, 19th century, a two-gallon crock with cobalt foliate decoration, stamped "J.S. TAFT & COMPANY / KEENE, N.H.," paired with a one-gallon crock with cobalt brushwork on front and at handle terminals, stamped "SWAN & STATES / STONINGTON," Connecticut origin. Taft crock with 1 1/2" rim chip on reverse, three hairlines from rim, and some light staining. Stonington jar with 4" hairline extending up from underside, other short hairlines at base and underside, a hairline in one handle, a rim nick, and a few base nicks, one of which is glazed-over.
