Scarce Two-Gallon Stoneware Crock with Cobalt Rooster Decoration, Stamped "S B BOSWORTH / HARTFORD, CT," circa 1880-1890, cylindrical crock with tooled shoulder, semi-rounded rim, and applied lug handles, decorated with a brushed cobalt design of a rooster standing on a lawn flanked by shrubs. One handle reglued. Some scattered exfoliation to surface. A few chips to one handle. A few minor chips on underside near edge, probably in-the-making.
