Two-Gallon Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Jar, Stenciled "A.P. DONAGHHO, / PARKERSBURG,W.VA.," circa 1875, semi-ovoid jar with tooled shoulder and semi-rounded rim, featuring large, bold-faced A.P. Donaghho maker's stenciling below a stenciled banner featuring stylized floral motifs. A 2 7/8" rim chip on reverse with a 2" hairline descending from it. A few other smaller rim chips. Interior of rim with a 1 7/8" and small chip. Staining to surface. A minor in-the-firing fissure to underside. H 12".
