Scarce Cobalt-Stenciled Stoneware Canning Jar, Stenciled "A.P. Donaghho, / Fredericktown, / Pa.," circa 1865, tapering jar with tooled shoulder and semi-rounded "wax sealer" rim, featuring A.P. Donaghho maker's stenciling used during his Fredericktown, PA period, prior to the establishment of his long-standing Parkersburg, WV operation. A glazed-over 5/8" dent to side of rim. A 1" in-the-firing chipped section to top of rim. Inner wax sealer rim with two 5/8" glazed-over flakes and a minor chip. In-the-firing contact marks to surface and one to bottom edge of jar. H 6 3/8".
