One-Gallon Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Jar, Stenciled "RICHEY & HAMILTON. / PALATINE . / W. VA.," circa 1875, cylindrical jar with tooled shoulder and semi-rounded rim, featuring Richey & Hamilton maker's stenciling surrounding stenciled flourishes. Freehand stripe decoration above and below. Strong color. Excellent condition with in-the-firing mottling to clay and minor staining. H 10 1/8".
