Very Rare Glazed Redware Jar, Stamped "J.M. DOSCH," Kittaning, Armstrong County, PA, 19th century, ovoid jar with footed base, tooled shoulder, and semi-squared rim, the surface covered in dark-brown lead-and-manganese glaze. Impressed on underside with J.M Dosch maker's mark. Relatively few signed examples of Western Pennsylvania redware are known. Small base chips. Rim with a shallow 1" chip, a smaller chip, wear to top edge, and wear to inner rim. Some light surface wear to exterior. H 6 3/4".
