Glazed Redware Jar with Lid, Galena, IL origin, second half 19th century, cylindrical jar with rounded shoulder and flared rim, the surface covered in a heavy lead glaze over an orange-spotted olive ground. Includes original lead-glazed lid. Jar with exfoliation to body, rim chips, wear to inner rim for lid, and two flakes to the jar's underside at edge, measuring approximately 2" and 1 1/2". Lid with significant loss to edge, two chips to knob, in-the-firing flaking and residue to top, a 7/8" worn spot to edge, and a minor glaze flake to edge. H (including lid) 10 1/2".
