Bellarmine Stoneware Jug, probably Frechen, Germany, 16th or 17th century, highly-ovoid jug with heavily-tooled spout, the neck decorated with a sprig-molded face of a smiling bearded man. Belly decorated with an applied seal depicting rampant lions. Iron-dipped surface with overlying salt glaze. Excellent, essentially as-made condition. H 7 3/4".
