Rare Slip-Decorated Redware Hanging Flowerpot with Vasiform Bracket, PA origin, first half 19th century, flare-rimmed pot with crimped shoulder molding and attached bracket on reverse in the form of an open-handled vase, the pot decorated with slip-trailed yellow-slip foliate devices accented with copper, the bracket decorated with yellow-slip lines and copper-slip spots. Surface covered in a heavy lead glaze. Five original drain holes in underside. Provenance: Purchased by the consignor from Walters-Benisek in March 1994. Wear to crimping, rim, and bracket. Flake to front of bracket. H 7".
