Unusual Rustic Redware Inkwell, American, possibly PA, 19th century, wheel-thrown inkwell embellished with scalloped incising and surrounded by seven applied quill holders, modeled and incised to resemble pine cones, interspersed with incised leaves. Attached circular base below with scored edge. Surface covered in a black "gun metal" lead-and-manganese glaze. Excellent condition with some light edge wear. H 2 1/4" ; Diam. 4".
