Stoneware Canning Jar with Elaborate White Slip Decoration, attributed to George Newman Fulton, Alleghany County, VA, circa 1875, ovoid jar with tooled shoulder and flared rim, the body partially-dipped in light-colored slip and brush-decorated completely around with diagonal whitish-slip floral and abstract motifs. Very nice condition with two small rim chips, a small base chip, and other minor chipping to bottom edge. H 8 3/4".
