Scarce Manganese-Decorated Stoneware Canning Jar, Signed in Script "G.N. Fulton," Allegheny County, VA, circa 1875, straight-sided jar with rounded shoulder and tall, slightly flaring collar, decorated at the shoulder with brushed manganese swags interspersed with a stylized flowerheads. Midsection of jar decorated the maker's name "G.N. Fulton" in manganese script, underscored with two rows of manganese swags. A fine, heavily-decorated example of signed Fulton stoneware. Excellent condition with some small rim chips. H 8 1/4".
