Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Canning Jar with Sistersville, WV Advertising, Western PA origin, circa 1880, small-sized, cylindrical jar with tooled shoulder and recessed "wax sealer" rim, featuring the stenciled advertising, "A. DARE & SON, / Sistersville. W.VA." Chips and wear to interior of rim and along inner rim for lid. A pre-firing, glazed-over scratch to jar's front. An overfired area to left side of jar's front. H 6 1/4".
