Scarce Albany-Slip-Glazed Stoneware Chicken Waterer, Stamped "JGB," J.G. Baynham, Trenton, Edgefield District, SC, late 19th century, beehive form with flattened finial, the base fashioned with an opening for watering poultry. Surface covered in a mottled brown Albany slip glaze. Shoulder impressed "JGB." Provenance: A South Carolina private collection. A 7/8" flake to mouth of opening, along with a few minor chips. H 9 1/2".
