Large-Sized Stoneware Chicken Waterer with Cobalt Floral Decoration, attributed to Richard C. Remmey, Philadelphia, PA, circa 1875, domed form with stepped finial and applied watering trough, decorated around the shoulder with flowers emanating from curved, leafy stems. Cobalt foliate brushwork around opening. Cobalt highlight to finial. Some hairlines to body and trough. Chips to edge of trough. Relatively minor, in-the-firing surface separation on underside. Some light surface wear on reverse. H 12 1/2".
