Rare Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Bedpan, attributed to Wells & Richards, Reading, PA, circa 1845, cylindrical form with inward-curving rim and applied, tubular spout, decorated around the rim with chain links, on the interior with a brushed flower, and on the spout with cobalt banding. A difficult-to-find form in American stoneware, particularly when decorated. Excellent condition with a short hairline to underside. L (including spout) 11 3/4".
