One-Gallon Lidded Stoneware Butter Crock with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Stamped "WM. ROOKER / EASTON, PA," late 19th century, cylindrical form with tooled shoulder, semi-rounded rim, and applied lug handles, decorated with a brushed design of a daisy blossom. Cobalt highlights to maker's mark and capacity mark. Includes a loosely-fitting, swag-decorated lid, Baltimore, MD origin. Unusual form for this maker. Crock with a 1 3/4" crack to underside, extending 4 1/4" up reverse. A small chip to interior of rim. Chips to edge of lid and numerous small chips to flange on underside of lid.
