Alkaline-Glazed Stoneware Face Jug, Signed "Lanier Meaders", Cleveland, GA origin, circa 1980, ovoid jug with hand-modeled and applied face, including kaolin eyes with cobalt-decorated pupils, pointed ears, a curved nose, and open mouth with applied kaolin teeth. Surface covered in a mottled, dark- green alkaline glaze. Underside incised "Lanier Meaders". As-made condition with some heavy bubbling to glaze on base, right side of face, and reverse. H 9 1/2".
