Sixteen Gallon Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Jar, Stenciled "EXCELSIOR POTTERY / PARKERSBURG / W. VA," Alexander P. Donaghho, Parkersburg, West Virginia, circa 1880, cylindrical jar with tooled shoulder, semi-rounded rim, and applied lug handles, decorated with Donaghho's "EXCELSIOR POTTERY" maker's stenciling and a large stenciled "16". Large horizontal Y-shaped crack at base. Large, thin vertical spider crack extending over much of front. Large tight spider crack extending from base to midsection on reverse.
