Fine Stoneware Canning Jar with Stenciled Cobalt Floral Decoration, Western PA origin, circa 1875, tapered jar with tooled shoulder and flared rim with wax sealer interior, the front decorated with an elaborate stenciled daisy plant between two freehand stripes. Jar includes original tin canning lid with fruit names. Jar in excellent condition with a miniscule nick on inner wax sealer rim and an in-the-firing stacker mark at base. H 8 1/8".
