Scarce Half-Gallon Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Canning Jar with Star and Stripe Decoration, Western PA origin, circa 1875, tapered jar with tooled shoulder and rounded wax sealer rim, the front decorated with four large, diagonally-stenciled stars between two freehand stripes. Nicks to shoulder molding. Nicks and wear to inner wax sealer rim. H 8 1/4".
