Exceptional Cobalt-Decorated Twelve-Stripe Stoneware Canning Jar, Western PA origin, circa 1875, tapered jar with tooled shoulder and semi-rounded rim with wax sealer interior, the front decorated with alternation straight and wavy cobalt stripes. An additional band of cobalt dots below the rim makes a total of thirteen lines of decoration. One of the most profusely-decorated Western PA canning jars we have ever offered. Excellent condition with a shallow 3/4" chip to interior of rim, a few minor nicks to inner wax sealer rim, and a 1/2" stone ping to right side of jar. H 9 5/8".
