Rare Three-Gallon Stoneware Crock with Cobalt Pitcher Decoration, Stamped "SEYMOUR & BOSWORTH / HARTFORD," Connecticut origin, circa 1875, cylindrical crock with tooled shoulder, semi-squared rim, and applied lug handles, decorated with a slip-trailed design of a pitcher with cross-hatched body, upswept handle, and footed base, flanked by two plants. A rare and visually-appealing design. Significant restoration throughout much of surface, not touching decoration. Colored hairline on underside. Some minor nicks to one handle. Additional large areas of surface restoration to interior.
