Scarce One-and-a-Half-Gallon Stoneware Pitcher with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Stamped "R.C.R. / PHILA.," Richard C. Remmey, Philadelphia, PA, circa 1875, ovoid-bodied pitcher with rounded foot and tooled collar, decorated with a double-stemmed tulip extending up the front. Collar decorated with cobalt leaves. Impressed with R.C.R. maker's mark on shoulder. Provenance: Recently found in Maryland. 2 3/4" base flake. Rim with 1 1/4" inverted U-shaped line descending from a narrow flake. H 12".
