Three-Gallon Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Jar, attributed to E. Fowler, Beaver, PA, circa 1870, semi-ovoid jar with applied lug handles, cobalt-decorated with a large sweeping fuschia design, stripes, and the number "3", brushed over a grayish slip. Provenance: From a thirty-five year Western PA collection. Two contact marks to front. A small chip to each handle. Salt drip and recessed spot with kiln residue on reverse. H 13".
