Two Stoneware Jars with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Stamped "COWDEN & WILCOX," Harrisburg, PA origin, circa 1865, each of semi-ovoid form with flattened rim, one impressed "COWDEN & WILCOX" and decorated with a brushed horizontal tulip motif, the other impressed "COWDEN & WILCOX / HARRISBURG PA," with hanging blossom composed of graduated spots. Larger includes original salt-glazed lid. Larger with a flattened section to rim including a partially glazed-over chip, some fry to cobalt, and staining, its lid with heavy chipping around the edge. Shorter jar with a T-shaped line at base, forming a large spider line across underside, and some light bubbling to cobalt. H (of larger, including lid) 10".
