Two Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Jars, PA origin, circa 1865, an ovoid jar with flattened rim, brush-decorated with a horizontal floral motif, impressed with the cobalt-accented maker's mark, "COWDEN & WILCOX / HARRISBURG, PA;" paired with an ovoid jar featuring three abstract brushed floral motifs, Beaver, PA origin. Cowden & Wilcox jar with three rim chips (one of which is glazed over), some fry to cobalt, and staining to surface. Other jar with wear around midsection and traces of old paint. H (of taller) 9 1/2".
