Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Jar with Letart, WV Advertising, Western PA origin, circa 1880, tapering jar with rounded "wax sealer" rim, featuring the stenciled advertising, "W. T. HAYMAN. / DEALER IN / DRY / GOODS. / GROCERIES, / NOTIONS, / HATS, / BOOTS, / SHOES, / HARDWARE / & C. / LETART . W. VA." Freehand stripe decoration above and below. Heavy chipping to inner wax sealer rim. Small chips to interior of rim. A small in-the-firing chip to underside. A 2" surface line to underside, not visible on interior. H 10".
