Rare One-Gallon Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Jar with Moundsville, WV Advertising, Western PA origin, circa 1875, semi-ovoid jar with tooled shoulder and semi-rounded rim, featuring the stenciled advertising, "FROM / M. DUNN / Moundsville. W. Va.," flanked by stylized stars and surrounding a stenciled rose motif. Freehand stripe decoration above and below. Excellent condition with a minor in-the-firing surface ping and minor surface wear. H 9 3/4".
