Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Jar, Stenciled "RAGER LLOYD & CO. / Palatine WVa," circa 1875, cylindrical jar with tooled shoulder and semi-rounded rim, featuring Rager, Lloyd & Co. maker's stenciling surrounding a stenciled plant. Freehand stripe decoration to shoulder and base. A 1 1/4" line at base on front continuing 2 1/2" onto underside. An iron drip to proper right edge of stenciling. Reverse with a 1" base flake and small in-the-firing base chip. H 8 1/4".
