Alkaline-Glazed Stoneware Jug, Stamped "V," attributed to Pottersville Stoneware Manufactory, Edgefield District, SC, circa 1820s-1830s, highly-ovoid jug with tooled spout, the surface coated in a two-tone alkaline glaze featuring a light gray body with glossy olive runs to the upper body, spout, and handle. Base impressed with small inverted "V" stamp. Shallow chipping to spout. Otherwise excellent condition. A very shallow in-the-making flake at bottom edge on reverse. H 12 1/2".
