Alkaline-Glazed Stoneware Jug, Stamped "V," attributed to Pottersville Stoneware Manufactory, Edgefield District, SC, circa 1820s-1830s, highly-ovoid jug with tooled spout, the surface coated in a two-tone alkaline glaze featuring a light gray body with striated gray-green runs descending from the shoulder. Reverse base impressed with an inverted "V" stamp. Numerous, generally short surface lines and surface cracks to body of jug, possibly in-the-firing. Otherwise excellent condition. H 13 1/2".
