Stoneware Canning Jar with Stenciled Cobalt Pear Motif, Stenciled "PALATINE POTTERY. CO ./ PALATINE / W. VA," circa 1875, cylindrical jar with tooled shoulder and semi-rounded "wax sealer" rim, featuring a stenciled design of a pear surrounded by Palatine Pottery Company maker's stenciling. Traces of old red paint to surface. A 3/4" in-the-firing surface crack in rim. H 8".
