Two Alkaline-Glazed Stoneware Jars, Edgefield District, SC origin, 19th century, both of cylindrical form, one with tooled shoulder, rounded rim and gray-green alkaline glaze, second quarter 19th century, the other with flaring rim and streaky olive-colored alkaline glaze, attributed to the Jesse P. Bodie Pottery, circa 1870. Shorter with thin cracks from rim and a small rim chip. Taller with a sealed spider crack to bottom half of jar, extending a short distance onto underside and a crack descending from rim to shoulder. H (of shorter) 9 5/8".
