Alkaline-Glazed Stoneware Jug, Edgefield District, SC origin, mid 19th century, ovoid jug with stepped spout, the surface covered in a heavy goldish-green alkaline glaze over a rust-colored ground. Provenance: Richard and Cindy Pearce Collection. Two spout chips, measuring 1" and 1/2". Two base chips, measuring 1" and 3/4". Two long, very tight horizontal lines at base. H 11".
