Alkaline-Glazed Stoneware Jug, probably Jesse P. Bodie Pottery, Kirksey's Crossroads, Edgefield District, SC, circa 1870, ovoid jug with small, tapering spout, the surface covered in a mottled, olive-colored alkaline glaze. Provenance: From a fifty-year SC collection. Essentially as-made condition with bits of in-the-firing residue to shoulder and handle. H 11".
