Very Rare Alkaline-Glazed Spouted Clabber Bowl, Edgefield District, SC, mid 19th century, ovoid form with applied handle, squared rim, and pouring spout, the surface covered in a mottled greenish alkaline glaze. The clabber bowl form is typically found with straight, flared walls, making this ovoid-bodied example particularly unusual. A thin 3" crack from rim. A 6" horizontal surface line to midsection. A 1" shallow chip to underside at edge. A tiny rim chip. H 6 7/8" ; Diam. 7 3/4".
